Beauty Tip: Sour Cream and Summer’s End

Now that summer is coming to an end, it is time to undo some of the damage we may have unknowingly done.  My first tip heading into fall includes a face mask to help with those brown spots that pop up from a little too much sun exposure.

Sour Cream (and all fermented milk) contain lactic acid, a type of alpha-hydroxy.  It is a key skin care ingredient because helps the skin retain moisture, is a natural exfoliator and it boosts the production of collagen.

Easy Mask:

Combine equal parts cottage cheese and sour cream and the juice of 1/2 lemon. Apply to face and let sit for 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water.  Use often. This remedy will take longer than any of your cosmetic solutions but it is all natural and your skin will be glowing along the way. You will start to see those brown spots fade in a month or two.
